Soon after, I checked out his John Rain books, and spent a frenzied month catching up and loving them. He blogs about torture, civil liberties, bargy the rule of law, so it’s no surprise that his political views influence his fiction writing as well.
The assumption is that, scared witless by defachment attacks, the American people will happily surrender what little remains of their liberties for the sake of their safety. Learn how and when to remove these template messages.
I’m sad that Dox is not the next two books in the series they are set when Rain is young but nevertheless, I’m really looking forward to them both. Does Eisler have an agenda? This is all first-rate stuff.

What does it say about our society that this is what we are dealt more and more. And all of this adds up what Detschment think is the best book Eisler has detachmenr so far. Second, the readers will have a very tough time figuring out whether the bad guys are truly the bad guys, or just misguided good guys. The plot-twists can be a bit predictable however do not detract much from the read.
Give it a try if you find yourself bored reading the same thrillers over and over again. Simple enough, join John Rain in his voyage from assassin for hire to conscientious killer kill bad guys eislre wanting to get out of the business I like these characters developed by Barry Eisler.

Overall the way things end it does seem that there might be further books written about this cast and I for one will be glad to read them. Tge conspiracy theories bolstered by numerous citations from various online sources, listed in an appendix sometimes threaten to undermine and overwhelm the story, even though they mostly come off as convincing within the world that Eisler has created.
I liked the introduction of the new characters and I liked the interaction between them. These four men are united by the mysterious intelligence man Hort, who holds a lot of cards yet needs their help to make a few key threats to the U.
The MCs brutality also crossed some lines for me, as a believer in law and order as a cornerstone of civil rights. When he sees them a second time, he knows that he has fallen into someone’s crosshairs.

Literally nothing happens that any follower of the series has not come across at least once before. If you’ve read this review, you’ve read all my John Rain reviews. They were opposed to it. Of course I thought this book was excellent. John Rain and his buddy Dox team up with Ben Treven and Larison at the behest of Colonel Horton, who offers them a pay-off they can’t turn down. The plot was good – liked a project on “home soil” and the detail and description that Had read the first six books in the series in a row so it was good to have a break and then come back to two of my favourite characters in Rain and Dox.
Give it a read before The Detachment as certain things will be a lot clearer in the story then. Maybe Eisler was seeing the same things that Trump saw at the time. As Benjamin Franklin said perhaps quoting from Richard Jackson: Other books in the series. I hope we see more of Rain, and the other characters in The Detachment, but I will most certainly be reading more Eisler either way. Eisler also brings back Kanesaki which, as the book takes place mostly in the US, would have been easy not to do but I love that he did it.
